Communicore Publishes Issues White Paper on Emergency Vascular Access and the Role of Intraosseus Infusion: Technology, Economics, and Deployment in a Multi-Dimensional Setting

Vascular Access is a standard of emergency care on a par with airway management. The delivery of fluids and medications in a timely manner can affect morbidity or mortality in patients needing treatment for injuries or disease management. Yet under certain conditions - commonly those in which it is needed most - peripheral vein access may be difficult or impossible, and central venous access may not be practical or take too long. This White Paper examines intraosseous infusion technology as a safe, easy to use, and economic alternative.

Recent Media Note: Following close interaction with the show’s producers, intraosseous vascular access was demonstrated on the May 11, 2006 episode of the popular NBC program, "ER", a series noted for its showcasing of new emergency medicine technologies. The inclusion of intraosseous infusion in the episode is just a recent example of Communicore's ability to raise awareness of new technologies through a wide variety of communications vehicles, in this case a non-traditional but highly effective alternative to traditional scientific media.
