| About Our
Approach |
The Organizational Difference
Communicore operates under an ethos somewhat different
from traditional consultancy, educational, marketing, or public relations
agencies and groups.
Communicore's blend of physicians, scientists, journalists,
technical editors and writers, public affairs and public relations experts,
graphic artists, and computer technology specialists bring unique perspective
and capabilities to our communications activities.
In addition to our various professional degrees or training,
we are seasoned practitioners in a wide variety of educational disciplines
and communications tools. We also have real-world, hands-on, and in-depth
issues and crisis management, marketing, media, product development, pre-clinical
and clinical research, regulatory affairs, and corporate management experience
in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and healthcare delivery
environments.
Engineering Consent Through Issue Management
Communicore has a proven track record in "engineering
consent" among the often conflicting constituencies that influence
the adoption of new technologies in healthcare.
In our communications programs, we frequently employ an
issue management approach to overcome the barriers that inhibit change.
Using a strategically crafted array of education, research, marketing, publishing,
and public relations programs, we seek to raise consciousness regarding
issues that lend themselves to technology solutions to improve the quality
of healthcare.
Independent Publishing
Communicore's credibility as an independent, third-party
communicator, facilitator, and educator further distinguishes us from traditional
agencies. The materials we publish under our own imprint or in the peer-reviewed
literature, as well as the consensus-building advocacy groups we create
to marshal support for technological change, allow us to better access audiences
disinclined to read or view materials produced by private sector companies.
These independent publishing activities complement our
more traditional public relations and media relations activities designed
to disseminate information about a company, its technology, or its product(s).
Expert Networking and Academic Liaison
Communicore has developed a widespread network of leading
experts and opinion-makers in a variety of disciplines that influence healthcare
issues. We draw upon this expertise by organizing and managing independent
single and multi-constituency panels, advisory boards, consortia, and task
forces.
Participants in these groups are selected for their general
or specific expertise, for their national or international standing, and
for their interest in accelerating the introduction and adoption of new
technologies or improved standards of healthcare. Beyond discussion and
debate, activities are goal-oriented and include the evaluation of new technologies
and their associated products, formulation of standards of practice, and
educating key constituencies. Commitment to publication in both print and
electronic media is a central tenet to each group's existence.
